![]() ![]() Then, the evil workday aside, I've noticed that it's hard for me to start on new things. It's a huge chunk of the day that demands my attention and by the time it's done I don't want to be productive even if I still have 8 hours ahead of me.īy the time work starts feeding on me, I've already spent a large part of my energy on what actually matters. Work is physically, and just as importantly, emotionally draining. What turns out to be false (for me) is the "I'll do as much as you, just later" part. (And to finish, seriously I’ve already put this plan into action cuz fuck it, no night life AND I’m working out at home in the mornings these days. It’s a whole, pretty drastic, lifestyle change. I make it work, I do social stuff during the day mostly.īut I think I would be good to recognize that it’s not as simple as ‘just get up early’. And as such, my night life is pretty tame. If I’m gonna go out, it needs to wrap up no later than 10 pm or I am gonna have a bad time. I get up before six 5 days a week, and I really must have a solid 8 hours. Me and my friends joke about it (ho ho oh ya crazy 30 somethings, out till 9:30, what a wild Friday □) but for me it’s kinda not a joke. It’s fine, I’m making it work, but the key making it work (at least for me) is that I’ve had to just let go of having a nightlife. I’ve had to adjust my schedule for work this year to have some very early mornings. I certainly don’t want to poo-poo this post as I think it is excellent (and a strategy I am into action in my own life) but it would be prudent to acknowledge the fact that there are night owls, and there are morning people. So with a bit more study im usually done early afternoon and after that i play badminton with some friends or go for a walk or read or something else that i like. ![]() Slowly making my way down to 5 am, took me like 4 weeks to get down too, but now im here and have been for around 9 weeks.ĥ:30-5:50 ish eat breakfast, brush teeth grab my stuffħ:50 ish arrive at school, begin at 10:15 each day so i get roughly 2 hours of study time before school starts.Īt the same time i see people barely making it in time to 10:15 am lecture, while I have already worked out and done often more than half of the days study session. In my case this happened to be 10:30pm and 8:15 am.Īfter that i adjusted my wake up time with 5 minutes each day until i hit 6:30 am, after that it gets harder so i started going to bed 5 minutes earlier aswell eachday and waking up 5 minutes earlier too. I went to bed one night at a time i know i will fall asleep and then woke up whenever i woke up. Now after going at it again i found a better strategy. So it took me a while to get here, i tried to wake up at 5 am cold turkey once after having been waking up at more "normal times" which resulted in me just being a zombie after 11am instead even if i had woken up at 5 am for 2 weeks. r/personalgrowthchannel (personal and professional growth) r/KaizenBrotherhood (self improvement, being your best self) r/GoodbyeDepression (overcome depression) r/DecidingToBeBetter (self motivation/self improvement) ![]() Have some feedback for us?
